Weekend Update

I had the best weekend. I thought at first I had so much to do and there wasn't anytime to see everyone. However, it worked out. Carm wasn't feeling well so we have postponed her birthday activities. Saturday morning Justin and I finally got the old box springs out of the upstairs. We borrowed a sawzaw (sp ??) and cut it into an accordion. Then we got ready for the evening. Joscelyn was coming and Justin had a gig in the area around my hometown. So we decided to pack bags and head to Smith field. We were going anyway to celebrate my parents 41st anniversary, so why not make it a sleep over.
Justin left to set up. Jos and I decided to go see the musical Grease at my High School. We met up with Mom, Sweet Pea, Anne and the girls. It was really good. I can't believe they got that many boys to participate and sing and dance. That would not have gone down when I was in HS. The drama club had like 5 people, one being my cousin Rebekah. I can't even remember a play they did. This one was very elaborate. I mean, I was impressed! It is weird because the play doesn't really follow the movie so much. I loved watching my Sweet Pea do the Hand Jive while sitting on Grandma's lap. Of course, every time they stopped dancing and singing or the lights went down, Pea would let us know "I am done". Then she was right back as soon as there was some entertainment. She is the BEST!!! I love that little girl!
Afterwards Jos and I went to my parents. I helped my Mom clean up a bit and then I was able to go out and see Justin play. I saw my best friends from High School, Missy K and Greg Olenar. I saw Greg a couple weeks back, but it was the first time I saw Missy in about 15 years. Nothing changed, we are all solid and still who we used to be. That is a great feeling. Justin rocked the house. He was better than I have seen lately. You could tell he wanted to play. It was a great time!
On Sunday, Mom and Dad took P and the Dominator to the meeting and Justin and I started getting ready to cook everything. We were so involved in getting things ready by the time people arrived I forgot that I had run bath water and didn't shower. Oh well, it's family and they love you no matter what. P helped me chop vegetables. She was so funny. I would cut an onion and she would say "Onions make everything better". Then I would cut garlic and she would say "My Mom loves garlic, garlic makes everything better". I had to let her put them in the bowl after they were cut so she felt like she was helping. She wants to be a very important part of everything. She cracked me up. She looked at a magnet my Mom had on the Fridge and it says something like "Amanda is a very special kid." She told me it said "My MOM is a very special kid". It was so cute she held it and walked around for a while with it. The Dominator is talking up a storm. No one knows what he says, but he is very convincing that he does. I asked P if she knew what he was saying and she said yes. I understand that because Amanda had her own language when she was little and I always knew what she was saying. Weird huh?
Anyways, it was awesome to be at home. There is something that house does for me that I can't explain. It makes me feel this emotion that translates into nothing can go wrong. I guess it is my safety net.
Happy Anniversary Mom and Dad! I Love you!
