2008 Tour Opener....
Well, it started just as we had predicted. We called the opener, Don't Drink The Water. Very exciting start. My favorite part was the encore. He rocked out "Thank You". It was a surprise.

Memorial Day Weekend
Despite the fact that I spent most of the weekend sleep deprived, I had a great weekend. Saturday night I was able to do some much needed bonding of sorts with Heather. It felt good, and put me in a better place. I also got to see my friend Georgette, and that was fun. We went to see Justin play at Tony and Cleo's.

Sunday I worked and then slept for 11 or 12 hours straight. I needed it. Then on Memorial Day my sister came over and we colored her hair and tried on clothes and played all day. We went down to the waterfront to see Justin play. It was a good time. My parents came and so did the Uhrig/Shelburne family. I gave Domenic his birthday present. He is the cutest one year old ever. Here are some pics....

This week is going to be very exciting. I only have to work three days, then I am off for four in a row. I get my new TV! I am getting new interior doors installed upstairs! and of course.....Dave is coming to town. Andy will be here on Friday Morning and then it is off to Starlake with Gary and Heather. I think my sister is going to go as well. It is my favorite weekend of the year. What could be better than that??

What I did I thought Needed be Done
That is a Dave lyric from Stone, which by the way is a Kick #$% song....I have said it over and over in my head today. The entire situtaion is work related so I can't really talk about it. I am upset though, I hurt someone's feelings that I really like as an individual. I didn't do it on purpose. I honestly believe that it was in the individual's best interest. Well, and in my best interest, and the company's as well. That's my job. It doesn't make it any easier. Now it weighs heavy on my mind. Sometimes I wish I was a teacher or volunteer that always had something to feel good about when they went to work and when they came home. Sales Management is very rewarding when things are good. It is fun, exciting, and I like winning. However, there is also the stress of managing individuals. Sometimes when you work 40 hours a week with people you develop personal relationships and get to really enjoy their company. At the same time your job is to ensure they are doing their job, regardless of whether they are good people or not. It is a balancing act. It may be the hardest part.
I am just venting....I will be fine. Just a little sad, it just doesn't feel real good. I am going to listen to something happy to cheer myself up.

The Right To Vote
I worked all day, and I was so excited to get home. I could not wait to vote. I ran home changed my clothes and walked up to Jesuit with my neighbor. I was as excited as I was when I was little walking to the Vend It for a grab bag of candy. Maybe it is just me, but there is something empowering about the right to vote. Maybe it is because I was raised not to vote that I take the power more serious than most.
The funny thing is, I remember when I was a senior in High School and I won first place in a speech contest on The Voice of Democracy. My speech was all about the right to vote. I remember my Dad had to take me to WOMP FM so I could record my speech to be played. Not to bad for a JW little girl, huh? Thanks Dad! I know you didn't really want to do it. I haven't to this day cashed the savings bond, I don't even know where it is.
I love knowing that I have a say. I love knowing that my voice is somehow noted. I love everything about it. I don't know if my vote will change the outcome, but I know it counts! It counts to me.
I was a bit of a dork, I brought my Driver's License and my voter registration card. I was worried I would not be able to vote independent, given I was registered a Republican until about 6 months ago. No one even checked my ID. No one even asked for anything. That is a bit scary to me. However, I proudly showed it anyways. That would be the dorky part.
So we will see how WV turns out. I think we already know. I stayed around for a while to hear people and talk about the election. I had to hear that Obama was a racist who hated white people. I had to hear that he blames white people for AIDS. I had to hear that he is the anti-christ. I of course heard someone tell me that he is Muslim, middle name Hussein. West By God Virginia! Gotta love it!

Mexico
I guess I haven't posted in a while. Mexico was great! Here's a quick catch up!
They do not celebrate Cinco De Mayo in Mexico - only here in the US. However in Mexico everyday is a celebration.
I hate Speedos, and I questioned everyday why only old fat men wear them. Don't they look in the mirror?
I lost my blackberry half through vacation. I was sad, but I survived.
My Dad got an award!!!!
Mom and I had our own little party on the deck, that was fun.
Why do men wear crocks in bright colors like orange, lime, or royal blue? Worse yet some wear them with speedos. Please refer to point #2. YUCK!
I love the beach, I read two books while I was there just chilling on the beach.
I met some friends from Canada, Lynne and Carey, they were nice people. CRAZY! but nice people.
I have a truly blessed life, and my parents are two of the best people in the world.
I came home Thursday night and spent all weekend hanging out with everyone I missed. Mexico was great, but there is no place like home.
Here are some pics......
