Happy Anniversary!

Bud and Anne have been married for 16 years!

Amanda and Eric two years!

We all went to Drover's for an anniversary celebration. (and to eat a bunch of wings!) In my family, anniversary's are a BIG Deal!!! That's what happens when you are denied Christmas and Birthdays, you make the best of what you can celebrate. It was a great evening. I got to sit next to Mav, he is growing up so quickly. The best behaved award goes to Domenic, not a peep from the happy little guy the entire dinner. He just chilled out and smiled. It is fun to watch him watch his sister. I think Penelope entertains him, when we were waiting on the porch he followed her with his eyes the entire time. Trust me, she is entertaining. Here are some pics.....

My sister looks great! Her and Domenic - he really was happy, I think the flash blinded him.

NC Swing!!

Alright so three days (76 hours), over 1,200 miles and two shows! Andy and I survived! I left Monday and headed to Charleston, WV. Got to have a quick beer with my friend Jenn, and then dinner with Andy. 5:00am we left Charleston and headed to Raleigh, NC. We got there just before noon and went straight to Walnut Creek. Found a hotel and went into downtown to check it out and have a bite to eat. It was smaller than I expected. The downtown was under a lot of construction so it was kinda hard to get around. We did find this nice little place to eat before the show.Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at PhotobucketPhoto Sharing and Video Hosting at PhotobucketPhoto Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
Then it was off to the concert! It was an amazing concert, my second favorite ever. The first time I ever got to hear Eh Hee live! The entire band was full of energy. Stone was incredible. I think Dave plays better the farther South you go....Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at PhotobucketPhoto Sharing and Video Hosting at PhotobucketPhoto Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Woke up and headed to Charlotte. It was only about 2 1/2 hours away. We found the Verizon Amphitheatre and got our tickets and then went to check out where the hotels were located.

They told us to go straight up the hill to the second light. We started up the hill and I looked over and there was Lowe's Motor Speedway. The concert was two miles from the Speedway. That place is pretty massive, especially when there are no cars or trailers around it. We grabbed a bite to eat and some beers. We hung out outside the hotel until we left for the show. It looked like rain at first, but it all blew over us.

Charlotte was another great show! They played a lot of stuff I didn't expect. Dancing Nancies, Loving Wings, and PIG!!!! We had great seats, where we could see the stage, and all the surrounding screens, plus we had plenty of Dance Space. They were not as strict as the Starlake pavilion. People were dancing everywhere.

Woke up on Thursday Morning and headed back to Charleston, WV to drop Andy off.

I got back around 6:00 pm. It was worth it! I had a blast, just a bit tired.

The BIG Thing..

I wanted to hold a yearly celebration of the FLOOD of 2004. I will always remember that day. Everything about it....the phone calls when I was in Pittsburgh, Not knowing what was going on...Getting to my house just to find Muriel and my pictures ( those were my two concerns, until I saw how high it was) I never realized that I had just trapped myself there...But there was the G Moe and Eric Rescue! I am forever greatful, otherwise I would have had to sleep in that smell.Plus everyone who helped and pitched in to get me back on my feet. I had a great time doing it at my house last year. However, I am commemorating it this year by going on the road! My friend Andy and I are going to see Dave. We only have tix to Raleigh but we are going to take a chance and drive to Charlotte the next night. If there are no tix then we will just hang there and celebrate the FLOOD OF 2004!

Catching UP!

Well...first of all I had a pretty good Holiday weekend. Saturday was the going away party...Wow! Then, Sunday I met up with my parents and we went to the Oglebay Symphony/Fireworks. I had it all planned out to be perfect. I ordered some picnic food, went to Krogers and got some beverages (MOTTS for TOTS for my Sweet P). I filled the cooler and met my parents. Problem was I thought they had it at the lake. So I make my parents repark (they were at the end of the hill on 88). We walk everything down to the lake, only to realize there is only a handful of people there. I call my sister who is already there and she says they are on top of the hill at the amphitheatre.
My Dad carried the cooler on his GOOD shoulder. My Mom, she carried the blankets. I carried the backpack, the 20 piece Chicken order, my purse and some snacks. From the lake to the amphitheatre is straight up hill. I thought I was looking cute until we walked it up the hill. I was so hot and sweaty. But I kept worrying about my Mom, she didn't have her heart pills, plus my Dad has a bad shoulder. I was dying, I knew they had to be uncomfortable. We laughed the whole way....I kept saying "Daddy are we there yet". Finally once almost to the top, a guy in a golf cart gave us a lift the next 75 yards. Only to find out that my sister was on the other side and up another hill. All in all it was worth it! My parents were laughing, we were all together and having fun.
It was a great time. I got to see two friends and their children that I usually don't see. We walked to the car early and I called it a night.
Next Morning, my Dad came over to finish some drywall and brought my Mom and my nieces. Dad was busy working and us girls played computer games. We ordered some pizza and they left. It was fun. My nieces are great. They did get into all my high heels and jewelry..but once I saw I told them it was okay. I gave them each jewelry to take home.
Next day off......back to the mall. My sister and the kids met me at the mall. P got to ride the blue train, I think it was train? My Sister knew the name of it. They came back here and we watched some backyardigans and blues clues. We played with magnets, chased kitties, and had a good time. My weekend was very family oriented, sometimes those are the BEST!!! I love my family, they make me smile even when I do not care to smile. I needed a big dose of them, and I very happy I got it. THANK YOU!

A Saturday OFF of work!

What to do? Last night I went shopping with my sister. I have never liked to shop very much. Lately, I find myself shopping all the time. I have been to a mall five times in the past two weeks. I used to be on a once a quarter schedule. Here's the thing with shopping that I noticed. You buy the perfect pair of jeans (which I found at Old Navy). Then you come home and you need a new shirt. Once you get the outfit, you realize that you should have bought those cute shoes to go with it. Then last night my sister and I went jewelry crazy. Now I have a necklace that needs a different shirt to wear with it, so I have to go back. It is addicting. I never really enjoyed it before.
I have a going away party this evening for a friend that I have worked with and known for about 7 years. She is a free spirit and we have always had a ton of fun together. It is sad to see her leave the area, but she I wish her the best. She is moving out West, which she has wanted to do for a couple years now. I am excited for her.
I came home from work yesterday and my friend from WV dropped off some 07 DMB shows. Made my day! I haven't listened to all of them yet. Today I plan on cleaning and listening to the two Deer Creek shows. It makes the cleaning enjoyable. I like just putting it in without reading the set list. That way every song is a surprise. The first time you listen is always the most exciting. He is such a nice person. THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!
Things have been going pretty well here on Alice. No excitement, just relaxing and getting a ton of stuff done. I love Fall. It is my favorite season of the year. It is calm and beautiful, especially around here. It is one of the reasons I love this area.
Well.....I am going to get a coffee, hit a couple yard sales...go to the mall..and then come home and clean before I have to get ready for the party. Enjoy the day, I know I will!
