They said it couldn't be done!
I wanted grass under my pine tree instead of the nasty mud that continuinally was tracked through the back door and into my kitchen. I was told it wouldn't grow. People suggested river rock or something similiar. Well 80 pounds of lime, 25 pounds of grass seed, and 80 pounds of fertilizer later, I have grass. Hurray!

I know what you are thinking. There is only grass in one area, and it has a lot of weeds. True. This morning I fed it weed and seed to take care of the crab grass that also grew. In addition, the other area belongs to my neighbor, and I refuse to plant grass for the mean nasty landlord that owns the house. He is the reason we still have the eyesore pine trees.
While I am on the topic, check out my canons! I know they do not look like much right now but they will bloom huge orange flowers by July. I stored the bulbs all winter and potted them in March inside. I transplanted them after the last frost into the ground, and they are doing beatuifly.

And to put the icing on the cake, the new porch is complete. Thank you Heather Dawn for all your help. I love it! I still need to buy a little table for the center. I am waiting to find the perfect one. Check it out!

Dave
Last night Heather and I stayed up until 4 am listening to live Dave shows. I know that you either like Dave or hate Dave. Which is fine, I don't mind people that dislike him. I personally find the music full of memories. Certain songs take me back to places or experiences. For example...
Best Of What's Around - reminds me of Heather. Great song - plus he opened with it last summer second night StarLake.
Sister - reminds me of my brother and sister. Great song if you have never heard it. Sometimes it makes me cry.
Stay- reminds me of my friend Jean Anne, she likes it and I make fun of her.
Lying In Our Graves- reminds me of IUP, he opened with it and Jean Anne and I were stuck in this long bathroom line and ended up running to our seats. I remember she was skipping down the aisle.
One Sweet World- This one is weird. One time Eric and I were going to see Dave and I had a dream he opened with One Sweet World. Since then I think it is one opener I have seen more than any other.
Dancing Nancies- reminds me of a girl we use to refer to as Fancy Nancy and it makes me giggle when I hear it.
Say GoodBye- reminds me of one summer afternoon. Carmela, My sister, and I were driving out to Tappan in the red grand prix.
Lover Lay Down reminds me of Eric. We saw it once in Cleveland and he liked it. I wasn't too crazy about it at first, but now it is one of my favorites.
The entire Crash CD reminds me of one summer when my sister lived with me and we played the cd over and over again while playing KLAX on Nintendo. Good Good Times!
#40 and Joyful girl remind me of someone I dated, he made a cd for me and they were on there.
Back to Alexandria - You have no idea! Hopefully you never have the fortune to hear this jewel. I remember driving to the mall with Eric and we just started laughing while listening to it. It's bad!
Jimi Thing reminds me of Carmela...period. Lillywhite Sessions reminds me of her because I went to visit and she said I have a Dave cd that hasn't been released and I heard it for the first time.
Grace is Gone- reminds me of my friend Andy. He sings it so loud that you could never forget it is his favorite.
I Did It- reminds me of Danno. I actually thought the song was about something completely off the wall, and he corrected me and explained the song to me.
Sleep To Dream Her- only heard it once and it was at a show in Cleveland that really sucked. What a way to top of a bad show but to give everyone a little STDH! Zac and I were laughing.
Then I just have some favorites, and I don't know why but I love them. Granny, it always puts me in a good mood, has to be my most listened to song. JTR is another one that I can listen to over and over again and not get sick of it. Grey Street is a good stress reliever, I love screaming it in my car when I have had a bad day. Bartender is good for that as well. Pay For What You Get is another favorite, and of course #41. I like the everyday mix he does now. I'll Back You Up makes me sad sometimes and makes me happy other times, but it is a beautiful song.
My least favorite song is Satellite. I like to refer to it as a good bathroom break song. However, recently I heard the original version and I really liked it. Rapunzel, Where are you Going, and American Baby make me crazy!
My least favorite show was Blossom this past year. The venue is horrible and Dave was sick. Followed by VA this past year because it was 110 degrees and miserable. My two top shows are Charleston, WV, Eric scored floor seats right up front. It was great. Also, this past summer with G Love at StarLake. Smooth Rider was awesome.
AWWWWW! Fun fun stuff! I can't wait for this year.

Too early!!
I realized that I wake up too early. This morning I got up and put a second coat of primer on my porch, did a load of laundry, and then called my Mom. I woke her up! My Mom gets up earlier than anyone I know. So now I am bored. I try not to wake my friends before I have to wake them, so I will just blog.
Yesterday I went to Mandy and Mike's for Brady's birthday. What a sweet little girl! I can't believe how fast she is growing up. I was telling Mandy I remember her first birthday party. It was more for Mandy, Brady was clueless. It was a lot of fun. I ate too much hashbrown cassarole but it was so good, and about 10 radaishes.
Today is gorgeous! It is Domenic's second day in the world. I am going to the hospital to see him, but waiting for my Mom to see if Amanda is up for company. She is a trooper, she was smiling right after having a baby! Bless that woman!
I am so proud my grass is finally taking under the pine tree. What a hassle to try to grow grass under a shaded pine tree, but it will be worth it. Later I am heading to hang with Jenn and Hayden. That is always a fun time.

He is here!
8 pounds 5 ounces. Amanda is doing great and so is Domenic. I haven't got to hold him or take any pictures yet. I am going back to the hospital in a minute. But here's some pics of Sweet Pea waiting for her brother.

Today is the day!
So exciting! I am getting ready to go and meet Domenick! He should be here in about an hour and a half. I will post pics as soon as I get home. I'll sneak a couple of Sweet pea in there as well.

Vacation Half over....
But I did plant like $30.00 worth of flowers in my yard the past two days. I love the guy at the flower shop. I usually just go to talk with him, but I always end up buying something. It was like 90 today, so the planting did not last very long. I still need to get mulch for the front yard, maybe this afternoon. Then spread it this evening when the sun is in the back yard. I went through some closets and sent four bags and one box to good will, well St. Vincent's, or was it the Shabby Boutique? I don't know the difference.
Two days until Domenic! How exciting! A new little man in the family. I remember when my sister told me she was pregnant again. I was on the phone with her in NC. It seems like it was a month ago. I am sure it seems a bit longer for her. Anyways, I still can't wait.
No big Memorial Day plans yet. I think Heather's on Monday for a picnic. But I am sure I will find something to get into before then.

Sunday Afternoon
It was fun! Jenn and I sat around for about three hours waiting for everyone else, but we had fun. Mandy brought the kids. Check out Miss Brady, she was looking very sharp. What a sweet little thing.

Here's something you don't see everyday! He doesn't even look nervous. (I am referring to Oliver)

Today I am watching Oliver for Mandy for a few hours. I will be sure to take lots of pics! He is such a cute little guy.

Hurray!
Today officially starts my one week vacation. Initially, I was going to be driving a car down to North Carolina and flying back. However, those plans changed. Now I have an entire week to myself to do whatever I want.
Today Heather and I are in search of a stereo system for my house. We need music. Speaking of which, a friend of mine did the nicest thing for me. He found a 12 disc DMB compilation and then downloaded it for me. He rocks! It is great. It has a lot of old stuff that they do not play anymore and a ton of fun covers. My favorite though is the full version of #40, it blows me away.
Later this afternoon Jenn and Heather are coming over for a little porch time. We have plans to paint my porch, but...I think it's just an excuse to hang out in the sun and listen to music. However, Heather is very serious about the porch. It is pretty much her thing, I stick with the yard and just let her go. I trust her, I think she learned her lesson when she painted my house purple. Anyways, it is a beautiful morning and I am going to go drink some coffee on the deck. Hope everyone has a great Sunday.

Very Productive Day!
I have been trying to keep busy, it is mandatory for my sanity right now. I am exhausted! But sometimes it is nice to look back on a day and know you got a lot done. First, I cleaned out my car. I mean everything. Glove Box, Trunk, console, everything. I cleaned the leather and then treated it. Got out the rainbow and swept everything. Even did the windows. This is a shame to mention, but I bought the car over two years ago and today is the first time I did a complete cleaning of it. I found Dave Matthews tickets from 05 and ColdPlay from VA in 05. I found a bunch of Cd's I thought I had lost, so it was fun.
I managed to get all my laundry done and folded, but I would be lying if I said it was put away.
Then Heather came by and we grabbed a burrito and stopped by Mr. Martins. I love this man. He has sold plants on the corner since I have lived here. I always make sure I buy plants off of him every year. So I got some really cool flowers and got them planted. I did the pots on the porch, around the shed in the back, and filled in some spots on the front with pretty colors.
Next my neighbor helped me treat my lawn with Weed and Feed. We did the whole lawn, and I just gave it a light watering. Now I am going to take a shower, because I am a very tired person.

Second to my Grandmother, she is so full of spunk and love.
Third, to my Baby Sister! She is about to be a mom times two!
Fourth to my girls! Mandy, Jenn, Carmela, and Paigey too!
I hope everyone has a great day. You have very important jobs that require a lot of sacrifices, patience, and love. You are all wonderful women, I love ya!
