Not going on date
I received flowers at work today. It was really nice, but I am not going on the date. That's enough about that.
I need to buy an entertainment stand or rack (whatever you call them). I have my TV on my end table, and I am using a box for an end table. It's pretty bad. I have the type I like in mind, but I can't find it anywhere but pottery barn, and I refuse to pay that much for three pieces of furniture. I think I am going to look after work tomorrow.
It is amazing, there is only a couple more things to do and the house will be completely done since the flood. It just seems like those few things take forever. I need doors, I have no doors in my house except one on the bathroom. I have to get the electric box moved so we can finish the wall to the basement. That is pretty much it. Once I get the stand for the living room I will have all my furniture replaced. I think I will have another party to celebrate, the last one was a lot of fun.
I can't wait for the weather to break. I know it's been a pretty mild winter but I hate getting home from work and it's already dark. It's so cold outside that I don't feel like going anywhere. I mostly sit and play boggle on line. My sister has me addicted. I will end up weighing 150 pounds by summer at this rate. Well that is about it for now.

Possible date in the making
I received a phone call from a customer. He didn't have a complaint this time. Thank God. He had a question...he asked, "Are you single?". At first I hesitated, then the hesitation got the best of the customer. He heard my breath on the other end of the line...yes I was silent for once. He took me by surprise. He asked, "Was that too forward?". I replied..."Just all of a sudden". Bottom line...I did not say yes and I certainly did not say no! I replied that I was flattered, but overwhelmed. I asked if I could get back to him. My friend Heather told me that it's dinner, not a marriage purposal. See what he's about. You may even like him. I asked her who should pay. She told me that he asked and when the bill came to keep my mouth shut. He is employed which is completely opposite of my type of guys. The truth must be told! I like taking care of people, and in the past it has led to some dysfunctional episodes. Yes, I will call them relationships. It has also led to some really great times and friendships. I'd never change a thing.

Happy Sweet Seven Cassidy

What is worse than a room full of 12 7 year olds girls....I have no clue. It was chaos! But Cassidy's birthday party was a hit. We gave her the bike first. I set it outside and we rang the door bell and ran around the house. She opened the door stunned, and asked her Mom, "who owns it?" We explained it was hers, but it took a second to sink in. Then she opened the rest of the gifts and like any other seven year old, she was more excited about the play make up than the bike and helmet. She saw the make up and ran around hugging us and saying thank you.

She tried to play bashful while everyone sang Happy Birthday. After the end of the kid party there was a family party. Needless to say by the end of the night Cassidy was exhausted, and so was Jenny, Heather, and Mom. We had to spend the night because of the weather, but it was fun. I love hanging out at Carm's.

Crazy Stressed
Work has been insane. I am really stressed. I have 80 things to get done in one week. I feel like I haven't had a chance to breath. Plus I have so many other things going on.
Right after work I am going to a dinner at the Stifel. It is a Mediterranean dinner so it should be good. A friend of mine invited me as his guest. That was really nice. I have gone before and it is fun.
Right after that I have to go home finish some stuff for work, and make a pasta salad for Cass's party in Pittsburgh. I made the meatballs and sauce last night. I am leaving in the morning for Pittsburgh. I was supposed to go tonight but it's way too much after working all day.
Monday Morning I was supposed to have my computer and DSL installed, but Comcast changed it on me. They wanted to charge me $99.00 for installation when I made the order. I came home and saw a coupon for free installation and called them. The lady said she could honor the coupon but she had to cancel my order. In the process she said I had to reschedule for installation and Thursday is now the soonest they could do it. I didn't understand it, but I saved $100.00. That's it for now...

I bought a Dell
My brother in law helped me out. It's the new XPS210. I should be able to do everything I want on it. I think the lady may have suckered me into a couple things I didn't need because she went over my price limit. I am not that worried, I am actually excited. It was my first computer purchase. Plus I received a company discount and 18 months free financing. Should be here this Friday and Comcast is coming early Monday morning to install my DSL. I can't wait.
My basement had water in it this morning. Not too much. Could be worse. I have to pack tonight. I have meetings in Pittsburgh the next two days. We are staying up there tomorrow night. Should be fun. By the way, I am no longer winning in the football sheet. Oh well.

Monday
The weekend came and went. It was good and it was bad. Friday I watched a movie, Brokeback Mountain. It was BORING!!!! Saturday work went well. I rearranged my assistants office to surprise her and cleaned everything.
I got to see an old friend and hang out with him on Saturday night, that was fun. Actually I had a lot of fun Saturday night until the end. I did pretty well in a playoff sheet. I think I only lost two games, maybe three I didn't catch the last game yesterday. Yesterday was a disaster, that pretty much is enough info.
I did have dinner with my parents, sister and Aunt Susan. My dad loves Sonny Boys, this little dive diner. It was fun. Just sitting around telling stories, laughing at each other. We laughed so hard, and it was great to see them. My Aunt lost her son around this time a couple years back, so it was great to see her laughing and having fun. Things are tough for her. The dinner and family time was just what I needed.
I am off today and it is cold, wet, and grey. That may have something to do with my blah mood. But I am going to be productive. We have gotten a lot of rain, and I always get nervous since the flood. So today I am cleaning out the basement and making sure that everything is off the floor and easily movable. It is amazing to me how quickly stuff accumulates in my basement. Easier to go through it now before it is all wet and muddy. I walked past the creek yesterday and noticed that it is high, and it hasn't quit raining as of yet. So I am off to prepare for the worst, and hope that doesn't happen.

It's A Boy!
I don't think anyone besides my sister reads this, so I can write about it. My sister came over right after the Dr appt and showed me the picture. He will be here late May/Early June. I can't wait. Thus far Mav has been the only grandson on our side of the family and he is almost in high school. I am really happy for them. One of each and only 1 1/2 years apart. They will be best friends.
Sweet Pea is a trip. She talks non stop now. It's hilarious because she uses all these adult and serious expressions that make you believe she knows what she wants to say. Her and my sister hung out for a while here at work today. She is getting really good at walking, and I have a feeling once she starts to get talking down, we will all be in for a treat!

What to do...
Today is his birthday. He is 31 years old. I am trying to blow it off, because after all he blew my birthday off in Novemeber. Then there is this part of me that says, everyone deserves to be acknowledged at least on their birthday. Even the worst people in the world. (Not that I really think he is that bad) So what to do....Email? Text? It's way too late for a card.

The weekend

I went out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That is right, I actually went out last Friday night. It was a good time. I had the entire weekend off so I decided to go with some friends and see a band. I didn't stay out late but it was fun. Big Plus - No Fights.
I was not feeling so hot Saturday, but I got myself together and started preparing for the baby shower. It was fun finally seeing everything come together. Heather and I have a way of not really talking much about any details, and then boom! Last minute we make sure that it is all done. This method has not failed us yet. Plus I was excited for my friend that was having the baby.

My mom came to the shower. That was nice, she doesn't really know any of my friend's mothers. She had a good time, of course, she had Sweet P. The baby shower was a success. The Mama to Be received a lot of nice stuff. Little boys cloths are so cute. I can't wait to see the baby in them. It was also nice to hang out with the girl's.

On a side note.....Happy 40th Birthday Dave Matthews!

I need to buy a computer
I know, I should have already had one. I never had a need for a computer until now. Of course, now the only need I have involves
1. This Blog
2. My obsession with LIVE DMB Shows
3. Pictures
4. Scrapbooking
The problem is I have no idea where to start. I have looked and I receive a discount through work from Dell. After that, I have no clue. So many decisions. Is a Dell a good one? Do you want a laptop? Desktop? I haven't even got into the difficult stuff. Fortunately my brother in law is a computer whiz. I am looking to him for guidance on this one. I just have to wait until he catches a break. He is a bit busy right now.
Then I have to get internet. Again, no clue. I have never had it. I use a wireless aircard for my work laptop. I imagine if I want to do some of the stuff I am looking at I may need actual internet. I don't even have a home phone so I have some serious research to do. It all sounds very expensive, but it is time to break down and enter the cyber world.

Getting Excited...
This weekend me and a couple of my girlfriends are throwing a baby shower for my good friend. She is due on February 2nd, Sweet Pea's birthday. Last night Heather and I went shopping for the baby. It was fun, but no one should have sent the two of us. We just kept filling the cart. Then we would find something else, and we would have to trade off. I felt like I was on the price is right or some shopping game show. Baby stuff is just too cute. I am happy with our choices.
Then we went to the new Walmart. It is almost too big. However, I did realize that going to Kroger's for cat food, litter, or any household products is just insane. Walmart is so much cheaper. I got everything I need to cook for the shower. Finished the meatballs last night. Not much left to do until the weekend, but I am starting to get excited. I am sure she will love it!
By the way....2007 has been pretty good at least three days into it. No drama, tradegy, or sadness. I believe I left it all in 06. As far as an update on the resolutions, well the no smoking - not so good. I have to set a new date, thinking maybe the 9th Dave Matthews Birthday. Drinking plenty of water though, moderate exercise- by that I mean some situps in my living room while I watch tv. And I do not think I have been mean to anyone, at least not intentionally.

Sweet Cassidy

For New Year's Eve I decided to go visit my friend in Pittsburgh. It was fun. Her daughter is a riot. Too smart for her age, she is 7 going on 16. She was all decked out in tons of jewelry, a new years tattoo on her cheek and a New Years Tiara.
I love going to spend time with Carm, she always gets me in better spirits. I had to leave the next morning. Cass started crying, so I promised I would come in two weeks to spend the night again. It is very hard to say no to her.
I came home and went to my parents to eat dinner. We had all the leftovers from New Year's Eve. It was fun. We basically ate and then watched TV. They watch really bad lifetimes movies. My mom talks all the way through the movie. I fell asleep and ended up spending the night. We had coffee this morning talked a bit and then I left to come home and got ready for work. Nothing real exciting to report, but I had a good New Year's.
